The Swiss Blockchain Federation was founded 4 years ago. During the last few years, the association has grown strongly – making it clear: The blockchain ecosystem is a big concern in Switzerland. Today, the topic is more present than ever, and the SBF, as an interest group, continues to advocate for pragmatic regulation of conducive framework conditions even after the DLT Act has come into force.
However, forces exist both inside and outside Switzerland that seek to counteract our success. The SBF advocates attractive market conditions and will continue to do so through appropriate channels.
For example, in direct discussions, it pointed out the misleading assumptions of the Nordmann motion (21.4068) introduced in parliament, which called for a ban on cryptocurrencies to counter cyberpiracy. In addition, SBF participates in international exchanges and in recent months has submitted responses to consultations with the OECD and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, which is part of the Bank for International Settlements. In addition to the Board of Directors and the Executive Board, our working groups and the Expert Council are also actively involved and have launched initiatives on behalf of the association.
